The UK School of Professional Toastmasters Ltd
The UKSPT was founded by Noel Hampton and Graham Hunt, toastmasters with a substantial expertise as toastmasters and both qualified teachers in the English education system. The combination of toastmaster and teaching expertise ensured the development of a sound and well constructed course designed for the instruction of professional toastmasters.
On Noel's retirement Graham began to revamp and develop the courses which have earned a reputation of high quality. Graham then registered the school to become The UK School of Professional Toastmasters Ltd. The testament of this reputation can be found in the full diaries of its past students.
Training includes weddings (multicultural), Corporate/Civic banquets/dinners, Ladies'/Gentlemens' Festivals (Masonic origin), Burns' Night,Jewish work, Royal Visits &.Orders of Precedence, etiquette, protocol, modes of address, livery, marketing, special ceremonies, history, tradition etc
Training
The duration of the course is four and a half days. The course is residential in a good quality hotel and Leisure complex near Norwich. The cost of all accommodation is included in the total price of the course. Its content is designed to impart knowledge, test that knowledge, practice through role play, encourage investigation and to enjoy the company of fellow members of the course. Two very experienced toastmasters are recruited to add to the high profile of the school. When the course is successfully completed, toastmasters have sufficient experience to acquit themselves well for their first professional assignment.
No promises are made to cure 'nerves' but the course does help to combat any apprehensions you may have. On-going help is available after the course has finished.
Future Courses
Courses are generally held in early April and late October. The October course has an advantage in that there is time to prepare for the following 'season' but if you move fast after the April course you can get straight into mainstream toastmastering. The courses are usually held in the Park Farm Hotel and Leisure centre in Hethersett just south of Norwich.
